The new academic year at R.M. Salgaocar Higher Secondary School, Margao, commenced on June 6, 2026 with an Orientation Programme for the students of Std. XI.
The program began with a warm welcome address by Principal Mrs. Dawn Ferrao, who greeted the students and assured them of the institution’s unwavering commitment to their academic excellence and holistic development. She familiarized the students with the school’s rules and expectations, highlighting the importance of discipline, grooming standards, regular attendance ( minimum 75%), and the prohibition of bringing vehicles and banned substances to the campus.
Mrs Ferrao also informed the students that joining Google Classroom was mandatory and that the joining code would be shared by their respective class teachers. She further introduced the schools Mentoring Programme and outlined the objectives of the Committee, Department of Students’ Affairs (DOSA) emphasizing the importance of responsible conduct and student welfare.
Following the Principal’s address, Mrs Sandhya Korgaonkar, Mrs Nalini Palekar, Mr Ramnath kalgutkar, and Mr Durgesh Prabhu Gaonkar briefed the students on the activities and opportunities offered through the Cultural Union, National Service Scheme(NSS), Students’ Council and Sports Wing respectively.
The Orientation Programme concluded with an encouragement to all students to actively participate in academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, enabling them to make the most of their higher secondary journey and contribute meaningfully to the school community.
